Canary’s Towering Education Projects

B3 Creative’s productive relationship with Canary Wharf Group continues to grow. In Spring 2010, children’s specialists B3 Creative devised a new education programme charting the history of Canary Wharf, as part of Canary Wharf Group’s Community Affairs strategy.
Working within the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2, the programme includes a beautifully illustrated education book as well as downloadable lesson plans. These are used in the classroom following visits to the Canary Wharf Estate. Dale Pile, Community Affairs Officer for Canary Wharf Group said, “The new book and class plan really bring the history of the area to life.”
The book, called Canary Wharf: Through the Ages, charts the progress of Canary Wharf from the 17th century, when it was marshlands, to the present day world famous business and shopping centre. The book has popular not just with school children but with adults, too. So much so, it is now being sold in Museum of London Docklands.
B3 Creative is now working on a new educational initiative for Canary Wharf Group. It will be aimed at Key Stage 3 and examine environmental and sustainability concerns in the area.
